    • Are you a new user? You must set up a new password before logging in.

      1. Click the Login button in the top-right corner.
        If you are already signed into another TRU service on the browser (such as email, myTRU, or TRUEmployee), you will be logged in automatically and won’t see this screen
      2. If not, sign in with your TRU credentials:
        • Students: TRU ID number followed by @mytru.ca
          Example: T00123456@mytru.ca
        • Employees: Username followed by @tru.ca
          Example: jsmith@tru.ca
      3. Enter your TRU password.

      NOTE: If this is your first time logging into TRU Microsoft resources, you will be required to complete the Microsoft multi-factor authentication (MFA) step.

      Students: You can find detailed login information and answers to frequently asked questions, like “I’m Having Technical Problems. Who Can Help?” and “How Long Will I Have Access to Moodle Courses?” in the Moodle Support section for students on the TRU IT Services Portal.

      Faculty/Staff: You can find detailed login information and answers to frequently asked questions, like “When Will My Moodle Courses Show Under My Course List?” and “I'm Having Technical Problems. Who Can Help?” in the Moodle Support section for faculty/staff members on the TRU IT Services Portal.

Moodle downtime and upgrade August 25th, more information

This is a reminder than we will be upgrading our instance of Moodle the morning of Tuesday August 25th. We expect the required downtime to begin at 5:00 AM PST, and hope to be back up by 8:00 AM. However, this is a significant process, so it is possible the outage may go a little later.

The new version will have streamlined theming, and a few navigation tweaks, but most features and functions will not be changed. This five minute video reviews the differences in student and instructor experiences: https://barabus.tru.ca/moodle/5_2_upgrade.html

We also want instructors to know that next week we will be running a process to update older H5P activities to ensure they continue to work after the update. This process will not require downtime and should not disrupt user experience. An improved registration system for Open Learning courses launches May 12

TRU is launching an improved online registration system for Open Learning courses on Tuesday, May 12. Registration will temporarily be unavailable from 8 to 11 a.m. while we transition to the new system.

The registration process will remain familiar, including add-to-cart and checkout, with a few updates to improve your experience. These include a refreshed design, debit payment option and a new online learning portal where you can view your Open Learning courses, receipts and profile details. Your current enrolment and course credits are not affected. 

Any items currently in your cart will not carry over. Please complete your Open Learning course registration today or reselect courses after the launch. 

When accessing the new system for the first time, you will log in with your TRU ID and complete a one-time online learning profile.
