The work term course is designed to help you engage and share your learning with your peers, reflect on your co-op experiences, and build your professional contacts through networking activities. The foundation of co-operative education is that classroom learning is enriched by complementary practical experience relating to a students’ field of study. As with all work-based education, the objective of co-operative education is to complement academic learning with applied knowledge and skills, while integrating aspects of personal growth and career awareness and planning.
At the heart of co-operative education is the idea that learning does not stop in the classroom. Academic knowledge is strengthened when it is paired with meaningful, hands-on work experience related to your field of study. This course supports that connection by helping you apply what you’ve learned, reflect on real-world challenges, and develop professionally. Through this process, co-op education not only enhances your academic learning but also fosters personal growth, career awareness, and thoughtful planning for your future.
