This course supports students’ exploration of the intricacies of legal dimensions that impact educational spaces and education staff, across the K-12 and the post-secondary sectors in Canada.  The course provides a basic understanding of the Canadian legal system as it affects learning, to support students as they examine legislation, case law, and constitutional instruments such as the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.  The course examines the varied and complex facets of legal principles that are play in educational spaces (criminal, tortious, administrative, contractual, employment, and constitutional law).   The course aims to give learners a hands-on awareness of the organic and continuingly evolving nature of these legal principles as they affect educational organizations.
